Jerry & Barbara Jarrett's 50th Wedding Anniversary - 2005 : Jerry & Barbara Jarrett's 50th Wedding Anniversary - 2005... Two of the sweetest people known to man were married on August 20, 1955. Their children organized an open house to celebrate the 50th wedding anniversary of this beloved couple. It was held on September 10th so that all the Jarrett children could attend. There were many more in attendance than I was able to take pictures of. I used to attend the Fruitvale Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses with Jerry & Barbara in Grand Junction.

Bethel Construction - March 1996 : Bethel Construction - March 1996... When Vince Popish, Sam Baca, Jim Slife, and I were elders in South Congregation (click here for South Congregation Body of Elders), we applied to do two weeks of volunteer work at Bethel, at the world headquarters of Jehovah's Witnesses in New York City (click here for information about Jehovah's Witnesses). We went in the month of March, 1996. The work was hard, but it was a wonderful experience.

Pioneer School - August 1992 : Pioneer School - August 1992... When one of Jehovah's Witnesses (click here for information about Jehovah's Witnesses) engages in the fulltime door-to-door ministry, he/she is known as a "regular pioneer." After his/her first year of fulfilling the required hours to be a fulltime minister (when I did it the requirement was 90 hours a month) he/she (BTW, the vast majority of regular pioneers are women) has the privilege of attending a special, two week long, Pioneer School. I attended mine in 1992 and had the privilege of pioneering for 3 years.

I had been living my life as an atheist, but after 3 1/2 years of studying the Bible with Jehovah's Witnesses and examining their organization (click here for information about Jehovah's Witnesses), I realized that God does exist, His name is Jehovah, and that I needed to dedicate my life to him, publicly symbolizing my dedication by baptism as one of Jehovah's Witnesses. I've never once regretted making that decision nor found reason to doubt the reasons for doing so.
